Default Nutro Natural?

I'm thinking about switching Charlie off of Blue Buffalo:(
I don't really want to, cause I really like it, but for the past couple of weeks, he's had "pudding" poop. The first poop of the day is fine, but it's down hill from there. He has been on blue for 3 months, and he was fine till now. He just went to the vet for his last puppy shots, and no worms, so it's not that. Has anyone tried Nutro Natural? Is it a good dog food? I'm really hoping to find a good brand that I can get from petsmart, because it's very close to us. Any suggestions would be great!

ooops! I meant natural balance dog food!

I am considering the L.I.D. formulas for Jasper since I suspect food allergies are causing chronic ear infections and a red itchy skin rash. If I didn't have that to contend with, I would probably choose Blue Buffalo or Wellness out of the Petsmart choices. I often ask my local Pets Supplies Plus to special order food for me (there is no extra cost) and it arrives within a day or two.

Right now my spoos eat TOTW High Prarie and Fromm Surf & Turf

I have decided to remove from his diet, with our vet's approval chicken, beef, eggs, dairy, lamb and grains including soy, yeast, beets, etc. Any common allergens are gone and then if his ears clear up, I can introduce one ingredient at a time if necessary. My challenge will be to make sure that he gets enough protein when this formula is potato heavy. I am going to supplement with ground cooked venison. Just not sure how much per day though

Here are some resources (no affiliation) that I have found useful

I'd love to hear your opinion if you do make the change.

When my guys were eating kibble, they did relatively well on Orijen and Wellness Core.

With the number of recalls they have had, I definitely wouldn't feed it. Generally, their quality isn't very high either.
If you suspect an allergy, Wellness has a line called Simple Solutions that is one protein, 1 high quality carb so it is easier to determine the allergy.
I know Orijen 6Fish only has fish, which is usually a good novel protein in allergy issues and is grain free. I believe Wellness CORE Ocean is also only fish.

That is encouraging! My inlaws have a boston with very very bad ears (along with bad gas ) and I have been begging them to switch away from feeding beneful. I may have a captive audience now that Jasper has awful ears too. I am leaning toward the bison, venison, fish or duck LID formula. My local Pet Supplies Plus also offers a frequent buyer program with this brand.

Which formula is your choice?
