Default Crate Games

Hmm, I am really thinking about buying the Crate Games.
Have any of you used it?
What do you think?

I am hoping it would help the separation anxiety while we're gone for a few hours.

No some form of seperation anxiety is going to happen. Give them chew toys, place them in the crate as your home and allow the emotions to happen. It will work itself out. Treats worked for me. That I guess was my game. The whinning would last minutes and be over. Good luck.

I'd be interested to hear from someone who owns it. It sounds like a good idea, but I wonder if it just has common sense ideas or more? I bought Harley a buster cube when I got him and he never liked it, but he seemed fine in the crate from the beginning. Rotties are more idependent though.

Crate Games is an AWESOME DVD and a great foundation. It is not geared towards separation anxiety. It is a great foundation builder for impulse control.

Hmm, looks really interesting. I will have to look into it more. Our dogs (when we had more than one) would freak out when the other was competing. I'll mention it to my mom as well.

I have never heard of this, where did you find it? I'd love to see it, maybe it is something I could give to clients as a tool?

it'll be on the cleanrun website, primarily geared towards agility dogs, but the crate games dvd is BRILLIENT for many things, and is a good base for any great well behaved doggy, regardless of if you're going on to agility or not!!

It essentially teaches the dogs to LOVE LOVE LOVE their crates, they are totally screaming mad (but still totally controlled and waiting) to get into it when you give them the ok, and then they'll STAY in it, door open or whatever, until they're released to come out. hehe. It's very cute to watch some of the dogs doing it!!!

Huh.

Well Flip definitely HATES his crate, so even if it doesn't help with SA, it will be worth it for that alone

Thanks everyone.
I think I'm going to check it out.

We have a gigantic crate though, one of the iCrate lifestages ones.

That won't be an issue, will it?
