The face of my hero.

I felt conflicted about posting this, as I don't believe in buying pets for protection. Simply put, I don't think it's right for a pet to be bought under the pretense that they're their to take a bullet for us-although we know too well that under the circumstances that they could understand what it meant that they would do it in a heartbeat.

Regardless, this is the face of my hero:

No one was hurt!

He warded off an intoxicated man from mugging my husband last night. It's a very strange feeling to know that had he decided to not take Gryphon to the store that he may have been injured, or worse. It just feels really surreal. I look at him, only 24" tall and around 45lbs of fluff and legs and I am baffled by how amazing he is. He came to me afraid of everyone, and everything, we got through that and now he looks at the world as this amazing place where he wants to see everything and meet everyone. Yet somehow he knew, and I don't know how, that he should not let the man come any closer.

How do they know these things? It's unreal.

Because I can't spoil you enough, or make you understand how grateful I am to you, I will share our story here.

Oh what a brave boy! Glad to hear your husband is OK! The world is getting to be a dangerous place, but you are a little more safer with your Gryphon around! Now go make that dog a cake and celebrate his bravery!

The heart of a poodle's love for their family far outweighs their appearance of elegance and daintiness. I hope that mugger will think twice before he messes with anyone again. Gryphon truly a knight in shinning armor...with beautiful fluffy hair.

We've had a couple instances where Spike has caused someone to turn another direction. People see Poodle, then they see Poodle teeth, and Poodle growling at YOU face, and they sortof think better of coming any closer, for the most part... Good Dog!

This morning the hubby said "when we get our mini-poo...(something about a certain colour and hair cut *gasp*)" and my jaw dropped. When did we decide we would get another poodle? Apparently Gryphon has won over his dad's heart finally and converted another to the "poodle side."

To think that I will be the voice of reason telling him that we have to wait for a second poodle!

Fidelity and loyalty with good hair, that's a poodle for you! Good boy, Gryphon! And good grief, a night-time walk should not turn into such a misadventure. Maybe don't be so quick to dash your dh's mpoo dream, my silver mpoo would step in front of a train for me. I just know it! Glad all are safe, and mighty proud of your mighty wonderful spoo!:proud:

Oh, no dreams on m-poo will be dashed. I already said that I wanted to get one, but right now when we're still training Gryphon-I would rather wait until we move into our first house :)

I just thought it was really cute that for once someone ELSE is pining for a puppy.

Understood! Never thought it was a case of a "A dream deferred is a dream denied." It's wise to wait until you're truly ready to add one, of course. And when the time is right, may I suggest one in silver? :becky:

I adore Chagall, and of course silvers are my favourite.

What a sweet face boy, and that beautiful platinum hair.

Does he 'dig' his Frisbee? Gryphon likes to toss his down outside, and dig with both paws right in the center of it.

I think if I let the DH choose the colour he is probably going to ask for it to be type of red. He really likes apricots.

Yes! Chagall also "digs" his frisbee! Silly boy! Sometimes he tries to pick it up with his teeth while he's standing on it with his front paws, duh! Never works, but he keeps doing it. He can make some phenomenal catches, though my throws are not always the best. I don't know who it chargins more when I sail the frisbee onto the roof, Chagall or my dh! (I actually had to buy a second frisbee just for back up!) I will delight in whatever color mpoo you and your hubby one day get. As I've said before, when it comes to poodles, I'm actually color-blind. I love 'em all!!
