Default Such a stupid thing for me to brag about.

Proof I have lost my mind - I found myself bragging to my friend how my dog learned to eat from a fork so quickly. If they didn't think I was poodle crazy before they do now. It amazes me though.

The first time I offered her a bite of my rice casserole, she instinctively licked at it and all fell on the floor. On the third bite she tried to approach the food from the top and once again it fell on the floor. By bite ten she was opening her mouth, gently putting the fork in her mouth, and then closing it while pulling the food off the fork - just like a human.

I think I have become one of those obnoxious first time parent that beams with pride and shares every time their kid goes poopie in the big potty.

Nothing obnoxious about it! Just shows you are now a full-fledged member of our enamored-with-poodles family. We're pleased as punch to have you among us.

Non-dog people might not understand (I try not to talk about dogs with people at work - they don't get it, LOL) but all of us dog lovers understand your bragging
Let us know when she demands a fork next to her dog bowl

Default Such a stupid thing for me to brag about.

Haha I brag about mine all the time. Between that and the fact I have 4 most people know me as the "crazy poodle lady". Nothing pleases me more. Hehe

That is way too cute! The other day at work I told one of the girls I work with that I was going home to "play bear with Lexi." She started laughing and told me to translate for her! From soft claws on dog nails, to poofy cuts, to a dog physical therapist, all of our friends know we are "those" kind of dog people and they love us anyway!

Hey that is a serious accomplishment I taught my Rottweiler to eat off a spoon and fork and I was really excited!

I will admitt that every time people came over for dinner I made a joke about it as I was setting the table........... "We are using Teddy's cutlery tonight" They didn't think it was too funny and always gave me the furry eyebrow lol!

I think it's wonderful that you brag about your poodle baby that way, And why not, poodles are people with 4 feet, not 2, keep there coat on where ever they go, no matter if its hot or cold, and have better manners then some humans I know. So, brag away.

It seems like a simple thing to do, eat from a fork, but Louis (Havanese) still hasn't gotten it. He opens his mouth so wide like he's taking a huge bone, then CLAMPS down on the fork and tries to run away with the fork. So see, it's not that easy to eat from a fork! He also does this with spoons.

Leave it to a poodle to figure out the best way to capture every last microscopic morsal of food. Probably a good thing for us they don't have opposable thumbs, or imagine all the trouble they'd get into!
