first poodle

Ginger loves to hunt too, but it's all her idea not ours!! We've lived in this house with the great hunting property for about 1 1/2 years and Ginger's tally is 3 mice, 1 mole, 1 black squirrel and 1 large rabbit. She is very proud of herself and spends lots of time sniffing, jumping, circling and digging for prey. I wish she'd stop but each trophy just encourages her, of course!!

LOVE these dogs, the breeder, their whole breeding program and their family. Rich trained my lab, Juniper, and if I ever have a poodle with the drive to hunt he WILL be getting the dog for a few months. I love to watch him work with the poodles. He has a kind of patience and kindness that so many gun dog trainers lack. He really knows how to work the poodles and set them up for success.

If you ever want to convert a man into a poodle fanatic, send them to spend a weekend with the Louters. Cooper is fantastic, but all of Rich's poodles are great. I've been to visit with them several times and am continually amazed. If you are within a reasonable driving distance, I highly recommend reaching out and going for a visit. You won't regret it, and the Louters are so nice and accommodating.

Here's Ju working with Rich, and he even let my house mate, who co-owns Juniper, try his hand at working some of his poodles.
