Dear poodle owner,
What kind of guy is your dog? Is s/he rather a “nervous nelly” or of the “never met a stranger” variety "? While, of course, pet owners have always known that their animal has its own personality, the topic of "personality in animals" has only recently moved into the focus of biological research. Studies show that from fruit flies to humans, individuals within a species differ consistently in terms of how they behave in certain situations. The genetic and environmental factors shaping the personality of animals (and humans) are currently a very active field of research.
Within my master's program I’m conducting a small study on "dog personality ". To capture the dogs’ personality I use a well-validated questionnaire, which has been used in many published studies. Participation in the study will take approximately ˝ hour.
If you would like to participate in the study or if you have any further questions, then please send an email to
nicole.szyszke@stud.uni-goettingen.de. If you agree to participate, I will send you the questionnaire and a more detailed explanation. The questionnaire can be completed at the computer and then emailed back to me. Of course, I’m happy to inform you of the results of this study if you are interested.
Thanks for reading and for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Nicole Szyszke
