He seems to have several colors. At first I thought he was chocolate, then, in the other picture he looks apricot or red. What color are his parents? Did the breeder say what color he will be when he gets his adult coat? (I'm wondering, since silvers are born black and then turn over the first year, could this be the case with Peanut?) He's so cute!

First of all, "chocolate" is not a poodle color. The correct term is "brown" (boring, I know). But I do agree, he is not a "brown" poodle. I'm no color expert, but he looks kinda sable-y to me. There are some folks here that know the brown spectrum pretty well and can probably give you a better idea.

Hmmm, you know, I really figured that since having yorkies in the past, and knowing that there are some terms that are just "red flags" such as "teacup" etc. Coming across these puppies was not ideal, and I didn't even plan on getting them. It's a rather long story, and against anything I would ever do, it was just a matter of having a soft spot for an older lady.
At any rate, I believe the parents were cafe au lait, and "phantom" as she said. He has liver points, and amber eyes. His coat is coming in much lighter underneath. Especially on his face.

A lot of people just don't know, and call them chocolates, I'm assuming because of brown Labs being called "chocolate". With the parents being Cafe, I'd bet your pup will end up a cafe or silver beige color. I don't see anything that looks like a phantom pattern on him, but it's a possibility it could come in. At any rate, it's fun to watch pups clear to their adult color. Make sure you keep us updated with photos as he grows!

This lady was just that, I believe, she just didn't know. I can usually sense a malicious person.
I'm just curious as to his coloring. The little black female we named Daphne, and she is a hoot. Little girl is so tiny and acts like she owns the house, at only 7 weeks. Not a drop of shy in that girl. She ran right into the house and made friends with everyone. She stands proudly and confident, isn't afraid of a thing, and is a houdini to boot She acts as if she's known us forever. Peanut is more reserved, but became more playful last night.
They sure are fun little things. Our 3 older little doggies (a shih tzu, a yorkie, and a poo cross) aren't sure what to think of them, but when the pups run over to them, the olders watch me out of the corner of their eyes, and submissively lower their heads because they know they will be in trouble for being naughty toward them.
They sure have us all entertained.

That's a brown sable. He's definitely a sable and his nose is brown. He's gonna clear to be very light in colour all over.
"Phantom" is a fancy term for "black and tan", like on a rottweiler.

If you shave your pup's face, he'll look like this:
That puppy's points are black but same difference.
This is an older sable (but again, not brown) poodle:
I can't seem to find any brown sable pics.
Here's a brown one:
These poodles are phantom:
Here's a brown phantom:

I would say that cutie is either sable, cafe, or silver beige.
Your little black baby sounds like Raven. No fears, friends with everyone, and an escape artist. I have to protect him from himself lol! He can open his crate, I have to tell him to stay in there or tie the latch down. Lol!
