Chagall's mom, is there anything we can do to help this spoo and his overwhelmed mom. She was trying so hard to do the right thing. I was so distressed that she had a possible diagnosis of SA and no money for biopsy. I would be more than willing to contribute to the poodle rescue she has been working with to help fund this test. I'll also be praying that the test is negative and this boy can be easily adopted. They both deserve a break.
I don't want to speak out of turn, so I'm sending each of your WONDERFUL members a PM right now. I hope Pamela herself will share some news here to update you.
I haven't had time to be on PF because of the holidays, so I missed the latest development about Teddy, but I too would be more than happy to help if needed. I also want to add that Missy has had SA for many years now, and it is not a death sentence. She's happy and healthy, just needs more 'attention'. Wouldn't trade her for anything!
you are all sooooo wonderful! My computer died so I have not been on here but
chagall sent me a PM and I can check my mail on my ereader but uts hard to type on it. I am on my daughters lap top (that's almost as hard for me lol) I just want to thankk you all for your help and support! theWatcjhung Poodle REscue person has called me and is going to call my vet. I camn't even express How grateful I am and Debbie thank yo soooo much for calling Anita! I will keep you all updated on Teddy. Hiskin looks fine except for some of those black specs on his skin. did missy start that way? I hope he doesnt have it. I am waiting for the thuroid test - oh i can't dealwith this lap top lol I will update as soon as I get a computer - but thank you all so much!
Thanks for posting Pamela, and for your very kind words. It is my absolute pleasure to be of whatever help I can. As you can see, EVERYONE feels the same!!
Since the word is officially out, I want to sing the praises of the wonderful woman who's made the medical testing arrangements for our forum love Teddy. Anita McKenna at the Watchung Mountain Poodle Club (New Jersey) is, in every way, a poodle angel. (Anita McKenna anitamckenna@hotmail.com 908-237-2762) The testing is scheduled for Friday, and we'll hope to have good news to share sometime after that. And to respond to those so wonderfully willing and eager to help! Fingers crossed for Teddy, everyone!!
Is there a way to post goals, or how much we need to raise? I don't have much at all right now as I'm in a financial crisis too, but might be able to spare $10 or $15? Every little bit helps right?
It is SO nice of you to want to help out!! The Watchung Mountain Poodle Club Rescue (NJ) is coordinating the testing for Teddy and will oversee the costs involved. They have an established protocol for doing so. I will remain in touch with the rep, Anita McKenna, and relate members' interest in helping. I will then be in a position to share what she suggests for those wishing to help out. Everything will be handled through the rescue directly. That's the best I can offer right now. Thanks again everyone!
Small update....I was just in touch with Anita McKenna of WMPC Rescue regarding the outpouring of support for Pamela and Teddy. As you know, testing arrangements are in the works. Anita offered this, "How wonderful!...When we know better what's happening I will let you know and you can spread the word. It's a lovely thing how everyone has come together for her."
I dont know if I'm just hormonal or what but I'm teary eyed and on the verge of a full blown, snotty nosed, crying episode!! What a wonderful group of people we have here! I love how much we love poodles and how much we care for one another! <3
Aww, you are such a sweetheart! It's got me all faklempt, too. The poodle connection is incredibly strong, and so many good things flow from it. Makes me ponder the question: Do good people choose poodles, or do poodles make people so good?:confused3:
Those who followed Teddy's story know the Watchung Mountain Poodle Club (WMPC) arranged for Teddy's SA test. (The bill was $314; $248 for the vet, $60 to read the biopsy, $6 postage for the tissue samples.)
WMPC is not seeking any reimbursement, but for those who have expressed a desire to contribute to the expenses ($314) and would like to send a small donation:
Checks can be made out to WMPC Rescue, Teddy in the memo line
Mail to Candy Vaughan, 3 Harter Rd, Morristown NJ 07960
I want to express my deep appreciation to WMPC for stepping up to help one of our PF poodles.:thumb: Thanks for being there, WMPC!
And YAY for Teddy and Pamela!!:dance2:
(WMPC is a small rescue that does a lot. Should donations exceed the amount of the bill, funds collected will be used at WMPC's discretion.)
Debbie this never would have happened without you!!! you are the best!!!!! and all you poodle friends out there - you are the greatest also! thanks so much again - Teddy is a happy boy!
