Looking for an adult spoo - Poodle Forum - Standard Poodle, Toy Poodle, Miniature Poodle Forum ALL Poodle owners too!

A very close friend lost her 10 year old spoo last week and I am assisting in the search for another spoo, but an adult rather than a pup. My friend has had spoos her entire life, can afford a very nice lifestyle for a pet companion and was hoping to get the word out here.

She is located in the Chicago suburbs and would prefer not travelling too far for a dog, if at all possible. I have contacted all the main rescue groups in the area, and breeders in case they have adults. Just wanted to post here in case anyone knows of any adults/rescue in the Chicago area. Drat! Wish you were closer! I know four standards, 2 male black, a male silver, and a female black up for adoption here and in foster homes.

Though do you mind if I use your thread for possible inquires for these kids?
Two are from Cause for Paws Utah, here's their website, the kids aren't listed but if you contact them asking about the dogs I bet they'll tell you about them.

Update: There is now a very happy 7 year old male poodle spoo who was surrendered by its owner (because it chased cows on the farm and had a high prey drive) who was picked up in Dubuque yesteday by its new owner.......a friend of mine who lost her 10 year old spoo, Xander. Piper, her new resident standard, stands very tall and is 70 lbs, but needs to put on about 10 pounds! Both are very very happy and I thank everyone who sent me PM's and provided leads. Ultimately, this little guy came through Great Lakes Poodle Club and was luckily adopted before he was even put on the website! I love happy endings.

Have you tried petfinder.com? I am in central Illinois and found many adult spoos that way that I was interested in before I settled on my puppy...

You probably posted at the same time that I posted the Happy Ending! We were able to find a poodle and they drove to Dubuque and he is now happily residing in a wonderful place, with his own bedroom, twin bed, and a wonderful owner!
