I've always been nervous about the procedure and Sammi will be fine. Let us know when you bring her home.

Wonderful! That would put the both of you more at ease.
I am sorry that you feel you may have chosen the wrong vet. The smell could have been because of an issue that happened right before your arrival. Smells of urine, poop, diarrhea, and vomit last awhile, even after clean up...at least I know this is true with children, so assume animals also.
More hugs!

We are back
Sammi is groggy with watery eyes, but came through just fine. She is sleeping next to me now...wouldn't go in her crate or on her bed. Will call her regular vet tomorrow to schedule the stitch removal...don't want to go back to that place.

So happy for the both of you. Give Sammi some gentle hugs and pats from Canyon, Ryker, and me. I hope she feels better and heals quickly.

Im so glad that she is home and feeling safe with her "mom".
Im about to go through the same thing with my boy. And Im changing vet clinics too. The new one is much smaller with only one vet, but very personable and cheaper too. Do you mind me asking why you went to a place you never visited yet for her spay? Might help me in my decision.

So glad to hear Sammi is home and the surgery went well! We can all relate when our pets have to get procedures done - I know that I as just a basket case with the girls. But all is well and wishing Sammi a speedy recovery!

The main reason I chose this vet was that they do a lot of spays and could accommodate my schedule. Sammi's regular vet only does spays on Wednesdays. and I originally wanted a Friday appointment so that I'd be home with her all weekend. My first choice was our old pet rabbit's vet, who does laparoscopic surgery. But after much deliberation and research, I felt that it was just too expensive for us right now.
When investigating this place, I looked it up, spoke to a very nice and helpful receptionist several times on the telephone, drove past the place, but never went inside (**head smack!!**) Of the five local vet offices that I have ever visited in the past, this is the only one that was dirty or smelly in any way.
Oh well, you live and learn! I am thankful that the staff there was so helpful and friendly, which eased my mind a little.

Glad all went well!
What part of Maryland are you in? I'm just over the line in Gettysburg, and often attend APDT Rally trials in Frederick.
