Default Beyond mortified

My sweet little Remington forgot his little halo at home Saturday, and his horn sprouted up pretty as you please.

My great aunt Margree is in a rehab place, after having a massive stroke four weeks ago. Well, we went down for a visit, and it had to have been one of the funniest weekends ever.... Remington was in a mood. Let me start off by saying he got a hair cut Friday night; he hates it! Ha... It looks like he has fuzzy pants and a shirt on, with his mid-drift showing... Too cute, but he doesn't like it. So, to show me, he put on a real act...

We drove down to Austin on Saturday after I got off work... the drive was great, but when we got ready to turn of 35, he saw a guy holding a sign by the road, and he thought he should say hello, by barking his head off... and leaving nose goo all over the back glasses of the car... Ugh... We stopped to pick up my mom, and he refused to move from the front seat to the back, so that she could get in.... I picked him up and moved him only to have him go back before she could get in... He even smiled at her... I was getting pretty mad at this point, so I picked him up and moved him to the back seat and held him until she could get in. So off we go to pick up lunch... We get our burger and go to park, only to not be able to find the bag... Oh yes, he at two burgers and orders of fries in less than 5 mins. Now, I do have to admit, these are the best burgers in Austin.... Went back, and ordered two more the girl at the window thought it was pretty funny... After we ate, we went to the rehab place to visit my aunt. I put the leash on Remington, and we proceeded in. Of course everyone wants to pet him because he is after all a beautiful poodle. The next thing I know, this little lady is petting him and telling him how pretty he is, and what does he do? He says thank you with a huge burger burp.... I was mortified... I quickly said I was so sorry, I am not sure what this little old lady thought, but I was just wishing the floor would open and swallow me... We made it down the hall a few steps, and one of the nurses stopped us and wanted to see Remington, and right on cue, another burger burp... She then asks my if my dog is healthy... I thought not for long... He is going to have one sore bum when I get him alone... I smiled and said yes, he just ate a bit of a big meal.... Hmph big meal he ate mine.... :(

We make it into my aunt's room, and Remington has found his manors again, or so I thought... When suddenly there was a smell... It was an SBD and no mistaking smelled of dirty rotten dog. I looked down at him and he quickly wagged his tail... I suspect he did this so that it would send more of this horrible odor up toward me... I glared, he smiled... To add insult to injury, my aunt who has lost her brain mouth filter says in a loud voice, that the lady in the bed next to her must have gone poop again... The lady responded that she thought it was my aunt... I was silent, but knew the one who delt it was the silent poodle at at my feet.

When we left my mother asked me if we were going to stay the weekend, and that had been the plan, but now I had an evil poodle that was making life a bit harder. But inspite of it all I heard myself say yes.... So did Remington.

We went back to my mom's and started dinner... he was being unusually good, and laying just at the edge of the kitchen. It was too good to last. I had just removed two chicken breast from the pan, and was going to let them cool a little before I sliced them and put them in the salad... I don't know how he did it, but poof they were gone, and he was too... That little stinker had grabbed the chicken and was eating it in the middle of the bed... Ah! Two meals sacrificed to the fuzzy beast!

But it wasn't over... not at all... I decided that perhaps we should head back to my house before we wore out our welcome. So, we packed up and drove home... Remington sitting in the back, as I was very put out, and my mother as co-pilot. He thought he should tell us about each car we passed.... something he has never done before... As we got home he was ready to be a good boy or so I though... I let him run to the back yard to potty, and he came back as the mud puppy... After being groomed just the night before, he got another bath... Apprently the bath washed away the bad puppy out of him, because after that I had my wonderful cuddly boy back

Sorry to laugh at your misadventure, but you know what they say: Comedy is tragedy that happens to someone else. That little tale reads like a scene out of a Summer blockbuster hit comedy! You should write a screenplay. Working title, "Remington's Revenge." Just don't let Judd Apatow direct, or after downing all those hamburgers, Remi's going to have to do more than just burp and fart!

I just read your post to my wife, and she insists that your adventure would make an absolutely perfect children's book. (She's a school teacher, and would know.) Not only is it an extremely funny and true story, but in the end, you still love your poodle even though he's been a very mischievious boy -- a good message kids need to hear. I know I can picture the colorful illustrations in my head. If only I could draw!

I almost fell out of my chair laughing!

It reminds me so much of the shenanigans that my mom's mpoo Merlin used to do. His favorite thing was to pass gas and wag his tail furiously as he proceeded to walk out of the room. The one he only came into just to fart and leave.

We always said he was a past master of of chemical warfair! For such a small dog he was lethal! And it was only if you had done something that displeased His Majesty! Any other time he was an Angel, but Revenge is the perfect word for it! lol
