It looks like when it came right down to the wire, my breeder could not let her boy go... so I am not getting my 2nd spoo after all.
I completely understand. I don't know how anyone ever lets their dog go. At the time she was in a very stressful place. I guess things have calmed down... but it's okay, Carley and I are just fine the way we are. I had fears about a male dog anyway.lol
What a bummer! I know you were looking forward to this. You're being very understanding about it, but I think I would have been crying a lot if my emotions had been sent up and down in such a way.
You know when you just have a feeling... I could not bring myself to prepare for him. I don't know how many times I looked at beds ect and did not buy anything. I could tell she was much more attached to him than she was Carley. I am okay. I just wish I had not told everyone and their sister about him. lol He was so pretty, but he was a male and the longer I have Carley the more I am glad that she is black. We went on a hike yesterday and I was looking at all the mud thinking that the cream dog would be much differant to keep clean. lol I love taking Carley places to and I knew things were going to be harder with two. I truly am fine with it. I know he is loved and just fine where he is.
I guess your inner voice was telling you it just was't going to happen. I am sorry it did not work out. I guess you will just have more one on one time with Carley. ((Hugs))
Maybe this pic will make you feel better. I have a black female spoo (Lola) and this guy...mr filthy!! Lol... I had to change the landscaping around my house to prevent both dogs from getting like this daily... ;-)
I also have Mr. Filthy, but he's dark, so you don't know it till he comes up and lays on you, or the bed, or wherever... so there's no chance to save yourself from the filth - at least with a light dog you have a change of screaming "ACK!, OUT! Dirty Dog!", or whatever you scream at your house when a filthy dog heads for the freshly laundered duvet cover, or the sofa!
Carley's mom: I'm sorry things didn't work out, but I'm glad you're okay about it. I just want to offer a little plea here; please don't be turned off "poodle boys" (country boys and slick city boys are another matter! :wink.
Prior to Chagall, all my dogs had been females and I loved them from nose to tail. I was, as it turns out, unduly concerned about getting a male poodle, thinking there'd be, uh, "issues" related to certain parts of the anatomy...if you catch my drift. But truly, I can tell you my experience with male poodles, both my own and four others I know rather well, has been outstanding. They are loving heartthrobs with extremely clean house manners and lots to recommend them, IMO.
I too have experienced that sort of "pre-cognition" where you just have a "feeling," sort of an inner knowing, about how things are going to turn out in advance. I'm glad you were in that way "prepared" for the male poodle not becoming yours. Above all, I'm glad Carley fills your heart and world, she appears to do sufficiently all on her pretty own. Should the day come though when you're ready to add a second, I'll again lobby you not prematurely rule out a male.
Sorry for your disappointment. Another spoo will come along for your and Carley.
