Hi, I've been shopping around for a soft sided crate to use while I'm at agility classes, but my teacher instructed that I get a crate that I could bring with me on a plane in case I travel to get to a competition.
He's 15" at the shoulder, and 19" long. Is he too big to fit under the seat? He gets really nervous when I'm not around so I really would rather have him with me.
If he does fit, I don't suppose anyone has any soft crate recommendations that aren't crazy expensive?
I looked into it for Sprout who is 13 inches high - he wouldn't fit into the soft crates small enough to meet the airlines specifications. I gave him baby gravol to help calm his nerves while he was in cargo. ask your vet for a dose that will work for your dog and test it before you go. Problem was that I had nothing for my nerves !!

Zoe is 14 1/2 inches. She was quite content to lie down in the under-seat carrier from Houston to Albuquerque. I bought the carrier from Amazon - a canvas-type carrier, so it easily went under the seat. That said, Zoe has been accustomed to crates her entire life, so she was not bothered with a smaller than usual one.
Oops. Recommended Reading list strikes again. This is a very old thread.
