Do any of you give your dogs bully sticks, tendons, rawhide, etc? I am unsure about giving them to Lily since I have heard of dogs choking on them or causing obstructions if the dog swallows pieces. I just want to give her something that she can have as a treat. Any information or recommendations would be appreciated.

Beau enjoys bully sticks very much. We only get the "odor-free" ones from Bully Sticks - All Natural Value Dog Treats - Best Bully Stick, though, cause the regular ones stink to high heaven! To prevent choking, I take them away when he gnaws them down to about 2" or so. Another excellent option from the same vendor is "Windies," which are cow treachea. Gotta order another bag of those today, in fact.

Rawhide is a different story -- I have heard only bad things there, and we avoid it.

Thanks for the info. I will look into those odor free bully sticks - I like the odor free idea. I wonder if they sell them at any local retailers so I can try them and see if Lily likes them. :act-up:

I agree with LEUllman. We also buy from bestbullysticks.com. They are a lot cheaper than most retail places. I also like the fact that their bullysticks come from healthy grass-fed free range bulls and they don't use bleach in the processing.

You could try buying a bully stick from a retail pet shop if you want, but I can't imagine that your poodle won't love them! Definitely a good idea to stay away from rawhide.

Where I live we have what they call "pizzles" The same thing as bullysticks. No bleaching & odor free. I get mine at The Bulk Barn. Don't know if you have any Bulk stores where you live? Definitely stay away from rawhide.
