The wait is over!
Well, even though this is like only my third post here, my wait to own my spoo is finally over!! We picked up our seven month old black and white parti spoo today! The ride home was not fun...evidently he had not been in a car or had much leash training because he had to be carried to the car. Just as we got out of the driveway, he peed, and the he threw up and drooled all the way home, which was an hour drive. Poor guy, he was so nervous, I felt so bad for him. Got him home, introduced him to our female english mastiff in the parking lot across the street, and she didn't care. I did get him to fetch a ball twice, and he keeps peeking in the living room doorway. He has wagged his tail at me when I walked in the kitchen too, so we are moving in the right direction. I can see his wheels turning in his head when I talk to him and see him trying to work out what I am saying to him...soooo much different than our other dogs, and he's only been here a few hours. When he gets a little more used to us, I will take him to our vet and start trying to get him used to riding in the car so I can take him places.
He needs a bath...

Poor guy - What are you going to call him? Sounds like he'll be in loving hands from now on.

Congratulations!
I sympathise with the fear of the car - Sophy as a pup drooled and shook in the car, and was horribly sick every time it moved. I spent hours just sitting in the car with her on my lap, reading a book or listening to music, and giving her the occasional bit of chicken. Eventually I could move the car just a few yards, then a few yards more ... A comfortable crate helped, and gradual desensitising eventually did the trick. She still doesn't particularly like the car, but accepts it as a necessity and just settles down to sleep.

Poor thing. Hard to see them feel so bad when you are so excited to bring them home. I'm sure he will warm up in no time. I want to see pics!

Congratulations! So glad you got your spoo, and that he has such an understanding owner. I'm sure you'll help him work through his apprehensions just fine. I love the image of his tail wagging when he sees you come into the kitchen. Isn't that just the best feeling there is?! Enjoy him!!

Congratulations on your new boy! He is one lucky soul that you found him! He will settle in in no time then it will feel like he has always been there. We have a Whippet who detests the car. so feel your pain.

Big congrats! I know your pain about the puppy not doing well with the car! Picking up Vegas was a 5 hour drive, and his breeder feeds raw. I got the honor of being drooled on and had chicken bones, cartilage, and mystery goo vomited onto me. Just do frequent, short car rides and he'll love it in no time (always making sure the destination is fun.)

Your poor "little" boy! What's his name? You both are lucky to have each other. Let us hear how he progresses and be sure to post pictures, so we can admire him. Congratulations!

Afternoon update.....
He is doing well today...no more shaking YAY! lol He did eat,so that is a good thing. I put yogurt and pumpkin in with his food to help maybe help settle his stomach a little. I'll wait a few more days before I start switching his food to give him a chance to at least start to settle. He did well in his crate last night, but still hasn't pottied since he peed in my car on the way home, but also hasn't drank anything since he has been here either and I know they go hand in hand sooooo...He is a smart boy. You can look at him and tell he is thinking about things when you talk to him just by the way he tilts his head and looks at you. I can't wait until the settling in period is over and he is comfortable. For the first few days we are trying not to hover and just letting him chill and get used to us and the whole new place. He picked up the toys and took the little white tags off and gave then to me...and he's a shoe dog...but has learned to leave them alone already. I can't believe how fast he picked that up! Can't wait to teach him more!
He has moved all of his toys out of the kitchen and into the foyer....now its back in the kitchen...lol. I think one reason he stays in the kitchen is that he had had been gated in the kitchen and gated off from the steps. He didn't hesitate to walk up them this morning, so that was good.
We have no name yet....still working on that.

I was about to post:
"PICTURES! Give me pictures!"
But you took care of that. What a cutie! Hopefully he gets settled in and gets over his carsickness soon. Was he a rescue/rehome? I am so in love with Parti's (obviously!). Congrats on your adorable new addition!
