Quick update...Trix is being a perfect little angel. *knock on wood* She hasn't growled at the kids OR Lily and she's being a complete sweetheart. She still startles easily, but we're being careful around her, hoping to slowly get her used to our activity. She seems happy and has made eye contact with me several times. Both mornings she was so happy to see me--she was all excited and wiggly and licking my face.

I think that's the biggest thing that made me try to work things out...she acted very glad to see me when I went to my friend's house the night I brought her back home. If she had acted indifferent, it would have been easier to return her...

She and Lily have also been playing and Lily is beside herself that Trix will play with her now. They tear all through the whole house, up and down the stairs, all around, etc. Trix gets a bit overwhelmed at Lily's exuberance and Lily is getting better at sensing that. I've also been telling Lily to "settle" when Trix seems overwhelmed and Lily's the smartest dog EVER so she is backing off when Trix needs space. :D

Still going well! :) My oldest daughter has all but "adopted" Trixee and has taken on her care, has her sleep in her room with her, etc. The younger kids are doing well with being respectful of Trixee and behaving appropriately around her. She hasn't nipped or even threatened a nip since returning home. She and Lily play quite a bit and get along swimmingly as long as Trixee stays off my bed. ;) When Trixee does come in to greet us in the AM, Lily gets her feathers ruffled a bit but I'm teaching her to share. :D

Well done to all of you - and especially to the children. It must have been very difficult for them to remember that she needed a different approach to Lily. Sounds as if she is settling into her own space in your family very happily.
