Tags, tags and more tags!
I'm surprised Gigi can hold her head up with all the tags she wears on her collar. She has her dog license, the big yellow tag for the chip in her shoulder, a tag with her name and our phone number in case she runs away so that the person who finds her can call me right away and, of course, a little christmas tag of a santa hat. But I hate the look of the license and the yellow tag for the chip, even though I realize these two are the most important for her to wear. I just wish I could combine all of the informational tags into one.
I just realized while looking in the picture board, most of your poodles do not have many tags. Which tags are on your poodles collars?

You can engrave the microchip number onto her regular tag to cut down on one. Jager doesn't wear his rabies tag, but I carry it with me in my purse in case animal control asks to see it.

That is a great idea to have the chip# engraved on the name tag. With a toy poodle it gets pretty heavy with all those tags.

Thanks Paddle Addict! I think I will do that. Her name tag was starting to look worn anyway.
When you mention the rabies tag, are you referring to the dog license?

Carley does have a chip, but not a tag with the info on it. I put my name and phone # on a plate that is flush with the collar, it does not hang like a tag. I hate all the noise the tags make hitting bowls ect.

Yup, the city license with the rabies number on it. I don't consider that vital to be worn by my dog.

Lily has an id tag and a little bell. I still need to get her county license (we don't get rabies tags here till you get the license) and I keep her microchip tag on my keychain because it's ugly. I'm going to have a new ID tag made with that number on it though--fabulous idea! I was just going to order the fancier tag from Home Again but they're overpriced!

Name tag with phone number and address and rabies currently, need to get licensing for them, but they don't' wear their collars in the house. They're chipped, but I'm pretty sure a shelter checks that regardless, and if they don't then they need to.

We use collar tags from Boomerang Tags because I hate the dangling one. We have 5 lines with her name, our names (abbreviated), 1 line address, phone number, email address. I am thinking of getting another one with her city license number & rabies number on it. At present she only has that info at home.

A perspective from across the pond Poppy only has the one Tag which we are required by law to have on her. On one side it has her Name and underneath in brackets the word microchipped. The reverse side has legally required Name, Address and Postcode for myself.
It's odd hearing how many tags you have to have Stateside, but I guess that's just because I'm used to only having to have one on Poppy when we go out.
