I have been recently using another type of rather cheap Wahl clippers, and they do the job, but they are not cordless, and I would LOVE cordless.
I found these clippers at my local petstore for 60$, and I want them! I just wanted to know if anyone uses these, and if they are quiet or not? I want a quiet, less vibrating pair of clippers that is less than 100$. If anyone knows of any, please post a link!
But anyway, here it what I am interested in:
So, do you think it's worth it for a nice, quiet trim?
I ordered the Wahl Moser Arco SE and they arrived last night. I hope to test them out on Merlin tonight and will let you know how it goes! (They were $115 or so on amazon.com, but got high marks with the reviewers.)
I've used EVERY manufactured clipper on the market: Wahl, Andes, Oster etc. They all make about the same amount of vibration/noise IMHO.
Wahl makes a battery operating clipper in a small size. You can pop Wahl guards onto it for different lengths. Battery clippers makes less noise then electric (they're usually much stronger).
I never buy clippers in a pet store, I get them in stores that sell to the public and the hair salon business. I may be wrong but I think the prices are better and so is the selection.
These are the ones I just got. So far, I have just attempted face, feet and bum and they have done quite well. The charge has held for three of these "mini" grooms without a recharge so that is good.
The guards are pretty flimsey, and I have noticed that the "teeth" seem to get out of alignment and I need to pop them back to straight again. I don't know if they would hold up for heavy use, but for me they are working very well.
Oh, I can't seem to get between toes with them, but that may be my complete newness to trying to groom.....
Buddy Rose, good to know about the Battery clippers! I was talking about the clippers Zoey11 had in the link to Amazon. The Wahl Pro Series. I forgot to use the quotes!
