Default What color do you think he is? black, bad black, blue??

I couldn't find any white hairs on his feet. The only white hairs that I can find on him at all are afew white ones together on his chest.(I know that's a fault in the show ring.)

I don't know what color his nails were when he was born. Course they are black now.

He is 9 weeks old in these 2 pictures.

If you have other questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer them.

It's hard to tell in that lighting. I would try to get him in some decent (not too bright/too low) lighting and turn your flash off. We may be able to see the more natural tones of his coat. Very cute pup tho!

He looks black to me. I would not say a bad black from what I can tell on these pics. From what you mentioned you could rule out blue. He is CUTE!

Olie our apricot boy has a white patch on his chest. It can pop up. However he has the pinkest nose and lips LOL (I know) - makes him look even more human

I think possibly if you shave your poodles face many times the true coloring comes out. LIke it will be a lighter color, a faded black, silvering etc.... if it is still fairly solid then you might have a solid black. It also helps to now the history at least the parents of your dog & then any other history.

Like my Mini is a Black Abstract & her color will hold. Her mom is a Black & white parti, siblings in that litter had solid black. I have only found some ancesters further back that were blacks, whites, black & white parti, brown & white parti's. On the Sire side much harder since he is either a Silver or a Blue & has been changing colors since I started grooming that dog at 4 months of age. His ears were brownish, his body was black but not jet black. He is starting to clear & every time I see him to groom he is getting lighter & lighter. His face though has a definite Silver to it even as a pup. So, knowing some of the history helps figure things out.
