Ah poodle friends, PLEASE help.

Stormy is the sweetest puppy in the world. She's so quiet, plays nicely, loves everyone. Not a mean bone in her body...or so I thought. I took her to my friend's house and we sleep over there often so it's nothing new - she knows the house and plays with both of the dogs there well. Both dogs are boys and are her most frequent playmates. My friend is dog sitting her uncle's dog who happens to be female. When we got to her house that dog was in her kennel and was barking bc she wanted to play with Stormy. Stormy barked, no - HOWLED, back. I have never heard Stormy make this horrible noise before. I even asked who was making those sounds bc I seriously couldn't even tell it was her! The next morning when Stormy saw this dog outside of her kennel she snapped at her and continued with her howling. This went on for the whole weekend. We would put the dog in her kennel and the dog wasn't even making any noise and Stormy would howl and bark at her. Stormy loves people, has NEVER had an issue with strangers or anyone for that matter and while we were at my friend's house she had company over and she started barking at a lady that she doesn't know. Then she started barking at my friend's mom who she does know. Wtf! The next day I took Stormy to another friend's house who has a girl dog as well and Stormy behaved the same way. She kept snapping at her and just being an effing brat. To me, it seems to be a female thing. Stormy only has one girl dog friend - have I somehow messed her up? Idk what to do. She's never behaved this way and I've always bragged about how sweet she is but now she's acting like Cujo whenever she's around females. Where did I go wrong? She's 7 months old right now so I want to fix this NOW before it gets any worse. I tried disciplining her while we were there, but she wouldn't stop. I put her in time out which usually works with her, but she just barked louder. Should I put her in some sort of class? She's getting spayed in 2 weeks so I don't know if that would affect her personality kind of like how boys are more territorial before they're neutered. I really don't know what to do.

Has she mixed with other female dogs up till now? I would get her socialising as much as possible with kind, adult females. She is hitting the teenage months, and it is often a rather rocky, difficult time!

She's 7 months old.

She hasn't had much contact with female dogs. Most of my friends dogs are boys. I take her on walks every day and she doesn't act that way when we walk by girl dogs. The problem is I don't know any girl dogs. I'm thinking of putting her in obedience classes just for the social aspect.

I don't know if this works for all dogs, but my son's dog was a real brat. I found a social doggy daycare where the dogs play together. My son's dog was still a puppy - a cross between a Golden Retriever and a black Standard Poodle - so a big black rumbunctious puppy. He originally went in with the little dogs because he was just a puppy. I was worried he would hurt them, but the people at the doggy daycare said they had some pretty tough little dogs.

He was really rough the first couple of days, but he soon got "tuned in" by the other dogs. I would personally recommend it. If you can find something similar where they monitor the dogs until they know they get along. They wouldn't let a vicious dog play with other dogs. I think its a great way to socialize.
