Tribute to my old lover-girl, Miss Sadie May.
Ive been thinking about Sadie a lot lately. Sadie was an amazing black lab that my husband and I took in before we were even married. She lived with us for 11 years; through our "courting"', our getting married, our first child and she died during my second pregnancy. :(
She was a stray who showed up with only 3 legs; we don't know what happened to cause her to need an amputation, but she managed to live a very full and happy life with us. She showed up with a friend who you will also see in this movie. His name was Casey and he was a lab/chow mix. He was a cool dog, but a very independant dog. He didn't like coming indoors so he stayed outside unless we forced him in during bad weather. I loved him, but no other dog in my past has ever compared to Sadie.
Dude reminds me a lot of Sadie and while that is usually a wonderful thing, sometimes it kinda hits me in the gut, KWIM?
So, anyway, I decided to look up the YouTube video I made when she passed and watch it. Naturally, it made me sad but I thought I would share it you guys because it also made me happy to remember how great life being shared with a dog is and I'm so excited to have two back in our lives!

Wow, so sad; and yet happy, because she had a happy life with you and you with her. So many sad posts on PF lately! And yet, as my dad says all the time, that's the circle of life for you; have to take the good with the bad.

Sorry for the sad post. I should have said in the OP to turn down speakers if you don't want to mess up your mascara. That song's a tear- jerker!

No, it's good, I guess I'm a little sensitive right now because my sister's boxer died from eating mouse poison (no one knows from where) and her other boxer is fighting for his life. Poor guy!

Tears streaming down my cheeks. That is a beautiful tribute to your Sadie. Great photos and great music. Love the way that you took this 3 legged stray in and she became your heart dog. And I love the way that you have taken Dude and Daisy into your life.
Indiana: So sorry to hear of your sisters boxers. So sad. Hope the second guy makes it.

Thank you. When she passed, I felt the need to locate every photo I had of her (most of which were on paper since it was before having a digital camera) and put them all in one place. It is nice to have a video I can go back and watch when I'm thinking of her.

Sadly, my sister's second boxer passed away yesterday and she's devastated; it's actually been pretty hard for me too. But kukukatchoo, I think your tribute to Sadie is a really nice and thoughtful idea, I never would thought of doing that! Memories of dogs like her, that you have during the most exciting and important parts of your life, are even more poignant it seems.

With tears also streaming down my face, I am sure we all remember of loved pets that have passed, but will always remain in our hearts. Very nice video.
