This is Ollie. Someone told me what they are called when not quite 'parti', but I can't remember now!
His mum was a chocolate, and dad a cream and white parti, but all pups turn out like Ollie or solid black. He is almost 2 now, and has brown patches turning up on his legs and back, but don't quite know why yet!

Ollie is a handsome "abstract" poodle. Or you can just say he's a black poodle with white markings, but the term used for his markings is abstract. He's adorable!
If he's getting brown too, then I've heard people call them tri-color poodles. You'll have to wait and see, but his color should even out and just be black and white.
His markings are also very similar to that of the tuxedo parti poodles, since he has the white chest that looks like that of of a white tuxedo shirt, with black down the arms. But since he has much more black than white (black base coat with only a few white markings) then he's an abstract and not a parti.
I loooove the third pic in the open field with low grass, he looks so good with his great poodle posture

I get people all the time asking what breed is he, or 'is he a cockerpoo?' No one seems to know that you can get poodles with 2 colours! Poodles aren't very popular in the UK any more, which is unfortunate! The craze is with cockerpoos and labradoodles or any other cross

@MaryEdwards he's adorable. You should post his pics to the parti poodle thread as well.
@Catriona Yea, I often have to give a mini history lesson when people inquire about Hux. Because of his cut most people know off back that he's a poodle, surprisingly many actually know he's a parti poodle, but sometimes I'll get the "wow, he's adorable I didn't know poodles came in that color". So then I'll let them know that all the first poodles were two colors, but then around the 1900s they began to focus on breeding solids only that's why there are more solids than partis. People generally love the info, since knowing random facts are fun, lol
And I really wish they'd stop mixing poodles with other breeds... I don't get the appeal. I say just get a poodle they come in many colors and can be groomed in soooooo many styles that you can easily get any look you want.

My new pup Echo....
Echo is my new T.Poo & hopefully everything will come in right for the UKC conformation ring. Right now things look good but you never know with growth & bite etc.. Her 2nd scissored clip but not totally done. My breeder was given me a lesson. In a Mod. Puppy, we both like the Scandi version & then tweeked so more American.

@3Dogs Echo is a cutie-pie! and good luck as well!
@Catriona yanno, with some further thought and after re-reading what you first wrote Ollie might actually end up being a blue poodle with white markings. Which would be awesome since I've never seen a blue and white with markings like that. I say all of this because you said he has a little bit of brown coming in on parts of of his body, which is common for blues as they turn from black to blue.
From everything I read Its usually goes as follows...
year 1-- black
year 2-- black with a sort of "muddy" brown
year 3-- blue

I was researching that too, with the hope that maybe he'll be blue... but I actually just think he's a bad black! He has quite a few white guard hairs, and his muzzle is still very black, and I think I read somewhere that means he'll stay black.
He's beautiful to me no matter what though!
