Maybe my question is a complete nonsense, but what's the difference between red and apricot? I mean that Ruso, my tpoodle, is supposed to be an apricot, but I can't see much difference in color with reds. When he grows older he will light a lot? I think his mum was red and his dad apricot (very light apricot)
Here's Rusito:

He looks like a dark apricot or a light red. His face is a little lighter, so he'll probably end up an apricot, but a dark one. The only difference is the intensity of the color. If he holds onto his color, I'd probably call him a red.

Thanks for the answer. The pics doesn't make him justice, you know it depends a lot on the light. As you've mentiones, he looks like a light red. His color right now is quite intense, not exactly red but almost (I've seen a red puppy from the same breeder and he was a bit darker)

Beautiful. Some similarities with Sunny, too. Haven't taken pics of Sunny in a while, he gets groomed next week and my groomer has been letting him grow out a bit for the winter, although I miss a shorter clip truth be told. With the weather, his "bellbottoms" have gotten grey from mud, etc., so he really needs it shortened up a bit. I'll post of him next weekend though.

here is Winter at around 10 weeks. I was told she is an apricot, but i'm leaning more towards cream...although it really depends on the light she's in, so your guess is as good as mine. i know she has a lot of coat changing to go through yet, but i'm very curious. shs, i believe, has what is referred to as a snow nose (i could be incorrect, still new to all this poodle stuff :P) it's slightly browner on just the top of it, although she has black eye rims and pads of her feet, but her nails are all clear.....confusing! lol
here she definitely looks more cream
but in some lights she really looks apricot...in fact she looks like this most of the time if it's not bright
here you can see her nose, that brown just on top of it, that i was talking about, but it fades to black at the bottom of it...
what are your thoughts?!
