She is quite the little beauty with her silveriness coming through, and the wooly head is a very becoming look on her. When you get around to posting again, could you please weigh her and measure her height? She is such a nice square pup that I can't even guess her dimensions.

Well it sounds like Kailani has imbedded herself quite firmly into your hearts & lives! I'm glad that you have discovered that you have a 'Poodle' NOT a 'dog'..........such a different experience in my mind! LOL!!!!

Happy half birthday sweet girl. I was thinking about you this week, since Lily and Javelin and I are out on the road. I have been wishing I had an RV.

Kailani is adorable. I love her silvery eyebrows. Good for her to come back to you too. Good training pays off.

Charmed, we just stopped by the vet's office. She weighs 11lbs 12oz. And she is 13.5" at the shoulders. I don't know why I've never measured her height before today. 😳 We love her long legs and square shape. I had one guy tell me the other day that he thought something was wrong with her because her legs were too long. 🙄 I gave him a quick education, in a nice way of course. LOL

Catherine, I've been thinking of you a lot as I knew you'd be taking your road trip. Yes! Get an RV and come west for a visit! 😜 I'm sorry I was absent and didn't chime in on suggestions. I will read that thread tonight and catch up with you!

Molly, yes, forever a poodle convert here!

Hi Lori, what are you feeding Kailani? Willow is only 8 lbs and I think she can stand to gain a few pounds...

Lori G, what a nice size she is. I know why I didn't measure Wilson's height very often. He hardly held still long enough to get a good measure. Wiggle, wiggle, lick, kiss; just try to measure that! Does Kailana cross those long, front legs when she lays down?

Ashcash, Hi! Wow! 8lbs? Did the breeder predict her to be a small mini? What are you feeding? How much? Upon the breeder's recommendation we continue to feed her Eagle Pack kibble but we've switched from "puppy" to to the puppy/small breed variety. I get it from Chewy.com. The kibble are a bit bigger which she seems to like now that her baby teeth are gone. She gets about ⅔-1 cup per day depending on appetite. I also use Bil-Jac dog food as a training treat. I call it "puppy crack" as she will do anything for it. LOL It comes in the frozen food area or refrigerated pet section depending on your grocery store. It looks like rabbit pellets. I keep the bag frozen just getting out about 1/2c at a time. It store the smaller amount in the frig in a small container. When we are going out on a training walk, I take about 1/8C, smoosh it in my hand, making a little ball that I can just pinch a little off to treat her. It's moist but doesn't make your hand messy at all. Love it! We use other treats for indoor rewards but she's not getting many calories in treats at this point. She grew VERY fast as a younger pup but at about 4.5 months her growth really slowed. At first we were concerned she would be bigger than we'd wanted but I think she will finish at 14-15# which is what we'd hoped for.

Charmed, she does do the leg crossing thing but not all the time. I'll try to snap a pic when I see it...I love that poodle pose!

She is getting so much easier now, especially her interactions with the cat. The one routine I really need to work on is her morning wake up time. She has always slept thru the night rarely never sleeps past 6am. I'd like to adjust that to about 7am.
