I've been pretty good about taking pictures! Just slow at getting them on here lol.

She has been having a lot of puppy teeth issues lately, she kinda looks like a jack o lantern!
I went to a hands on grooming seminar by Michell Evans (competition groomer) and started setting lines on Zora, practiced banding her topknot the correct way, this was her first real haircut! We set lines for the Scandinavian. After seeing her in it, I haven't decided if I really like it or not, I'm not used to seeing poodles in actual more structured/patterned type clips, everyone around here just gets lamb trims. We're sticking with it for a while though

She is adorable. You have a great girl for grooming competitions. She has lots of hair for such a young age.

okkkkay I think I have the hairest puppy ever, she has started matting this week!!! I brush her out, take her outside for a half hour and she starts forming mats... today she got two in the bend of her back legs, and two in her stomach all while I was at work... is this normal?! I think she's way too young for coat change so I donno what's up!

I said it before, but I think she has super thick hair. She is too young for coat change and I hope it doesn't mean she is going to have a wicked time of it! I do know that if they are not completely dry and brushed out that they can form matts as puppies. Maybe she wasn't quite dry in the crevices? She is a certainly a pretty girl.

Thanks for the reply, I figured out she has been kinda itchy this past week and has been chewing on herself doing that little puppy biting thing, which is what has been causing the mats. I've started giving her some salmon oil so hopefully that will help with whatever the itching is from, I washed her this week and her skin looks great, so I donno what the deal is. I'm planning on washing her bedding in hypo soap this weekend too.

You are a groomer, so you know about rinsing well after a bath. Poodles also need a good moisturizing conditioner like curly haired people do. I had to provide one to my groomer because they use one that is too harsh for my tastes. Could it be as simple as that?

We had another beach day, freezing cold, in the rain and ice. The dogs didn't seem to mind, and my aussie still went swimming! Zora grew more legs this week lol. Her new collar tag finally arrived, so she's no longer running around with Austin's too.
