We have 6 mo old spoodle, Mel, and 8 y/o border collie/lab mix, Gordie, both males. Gordie, as it turns out, is not the mothering type and does not deliver corrections. When Gordie joined our pack we had a female lab/Chesapeake who corrected his biting and playing. I have seen two other female dogs also deliver these corrections to Mel. From my "wealth of experience" with a spoodle puppy(since 2/19/11): EXPECT your spoodle to take every opportunity to be the top dog. We finally decided that loud verbal interventions and physical, hands on displays of leadership by the human male (my husband) is the only way we are going to get this spoodle puppy to stop his infernal biting and nipping. It is going to be an ongoing process. So, take heart and don't be afraid to take a hands on tack. I truly believe that some puppies need to be physically dominated before they will accept their position in the pack. --Karamel
