I decided to shave Dodger.

I love her long fluffy coat but with moving and everything else I just decided it would be easier to shave her down and grow it back once we're settled in Charlotte. Vega's coat can almost go weeks without needing a brush and his comes out just with a slicker and the blower if I use a good conditioner on him but Dodger has such a fine and really soft coat that it can mat up in a few days or so if she's running around a lot.

I think it's cute although i'll definitely be growing it back out. It hasn't been this short since I brought her home. She danced around after the groom though, I think she felt "different" but wasn't sure why.

I'll take better pics outside tomorrow. This was a late night project so too dark out right now.

Enjoy.

I agree with you, Dodger does look cute, and I am sure it will be a lot easier for you with moving and all, but I absolutely loved her coat fluffy, like something I'd like to hug and cuddle, sorta' like a big teddy bear. To me she looks classier long, but still looks great with her new trim also, I don't think she could ever not look good.

I had been debating on it for awhile.. im all about the comfort of my dogs though and if I don't think I can care for her coat properly right now i feel it's my responsibility to make sure she's comfy!

I bought some halo dream coat to add to her food, it worked wonders last time growing coat! So it should be nice and fluffy in awhile!

I was noticing that last night..that she seemed really dark when clipped down. I thought her color would fade a bit but so far it hasn't! I really like the lighter brown (cafe?) and white parti's as well.

Here are some pics from the park earlier. Vega was dancing with my boyfriend... lol or perhaps just trying to jump all over him.

She looks really nice in her short coat. I love her color pattern, I am sure that helps with her short coat look.. :) I do prefer the bit longer coat normally, but she holds this cut fine! I agree, good idea if you won't have the time to care for the longer coat, them being comfortable is the most important thing! You're a good momma. :)
