WOW! I'm with the others, I thought he was a standard too! What a handsome Boy!

Does he look like a standard because of his haircut?
What does 'typey' mini mean?
Storm will be 4 months old on 14th February. I suppose also he looks big in the pics, as there's nothing to compare his size... He was the largest puppy.. The breeders only breed mini poodles... Both parents are show dogs, and one of his grandmothers were imported from Denmark, just like me... lol

Well, I am hardly an expert, so others are welcome to chime in and correct me -- and I'm sure you will!
According to the breed standard, toys, minis, and standards should all look the same, except for height -- in theory, only the size scales up or down, with all the other proportions and characteristics typical of the breed remaining the same. So if you see a "typey" mini (or toy) isolated in a photo with no scale to judge by, you might not be able to tell which size it is at a glance because it conforms so closely to type (i.e., the breed standard). That's the case for your boy.
Many poodles are not as typey as yours. They have a "look" that allows a somewhat educated eye to readily identify them as a toy or mini. For me, the shape of the face is often a giveaway. Toys, especially, often have a look all their own -- they don't look exactly like a standard poodle scaled down, but have different proportions and angles that just say "toy" to me. Nothing wrong with this at all -- unless you want to win at Westminster or something.

Photos of Storm
The size of his face and ESP the size of his feet told me spoo pup in the first two pix compared to the coat length.. The next pix told me mini or oversized toy. So you can see what I mean how different mini pups look.

So... does that mean 'typey' is good?
Storm is on an open registration/license, and I have no restrictions at all from the breeder.. He was going to America with the people, who initially bought him, and then decided it was too expensive and too much trouble...
On Monday he's going for his last vaccination, and I can begin to take him out... I'm going to discuss neutering at that appointment...
What age do you recommend I get him neutered?
Thanks

Can't see the pics... the links go directly to my page, and I don't use facebook anymore...
Storm comes from breeders of miniature poodles, and he has been groomed since he was 3 weeks old... I had him clipped short on Friday... These people breed nothing but miniature poodles...
