Thanks everyone! Russell is a great target for an amateur photographer. Sometimes he looks at me like "Why do we need the camera right now?"
The camera is a Nikon D5000 and the new lens is a Sigma 70 - 300mmm DG Macro. It's a cheaper lens than the Nikon, but then I'm no pro

Sigma lenses are very good, often recommended over the brand name lenses by the camera mags. When they do the group tests. I mostly use Sigma on my Canon cameras.
Beautiful sharp photos of a lovely poodle.

Great pics! I love the color of your poodle and he's obviously having a great time. Your lens rocks and your camera has a great dynamic rage to get the dark poodle and white snow and it all looks so fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

If you're not a pro then this lens sure helps you look like one.
