Got grooming tools for Christmas...Poots got a haircut!
So all I asked for Christmas was grooming tools...I got a grooming table, scissors, 4F and 7F blades, a couple of grand de luxe and Universal Premium slickers, an apron, a finish/face and 7 1/2" greyhound combs. Here are the results....I have shaved her down before but I've never tried to set a pattern. She needs some more blending on her neck and her poms need some more work but we both were tired so we gave up for the night. I'm currently trying to keep my hands off of her ears so they grow out and it's so hard because they are so ugly from the last time I botched them up, lol!
Before (her last shave down was August/September):

Looking good! I love her coloring. You know, she would look cute in a Chinese crested trim. Not completely fur less of course, just short on the body with a mane, poms, and long ears. I don't know if you are interested in that kind of thing though.

Actually I have thought about it but I don't want her totally nekid for winter. I have some friends that think she looks more crested than poodle.

Great Christmas presents. You are much braver then I am. I think my boys would look like Edward Scissorhands got a hold of them.

Ryker & Canyon it isn't as hard as it looks. I also got the book "Poodle Clipping and Grooming, The International Reference" and it is PACKED with so much good information and tips! I HIGHLY recommend it for first time/DIY groomers!!! Everything you could ever want to know is in that book, they go over what you want to look for when buying grooming tools and products. I've been studying it just about non-stop since Tuesday, lol.
