Because of the heat here I decided to go ahead and let the groomer take off most of Grayce's puppy coat. I have to admit that I really like the way it looks. I love that you can now see the lines of her body and to me she looks much more "poodley".
When my Lola got her first haircut, the "sanitary shave" drove her crazy. She wasn't used to feeling the air when she would go potty. I swear she didn't pee for 2 days, every time she squatted she'd give a little screech and run around, then sit down real quick to keep the air off her.
I was worried at first that she'd been shaved *too* close and had been burned or hurt in some way, but nope--- it was the air.
I do my own grooming now, so it's not going to be an issue again!
Oh... and I agree... your girl is absolutely stunning!
You could do what I've done and try little snips here and there each time. She had big pantaloons for a month. I am having them keep the hair on the bottom of her legs long because I want her to have bracelets eventually. Her hair grows so fast it seems like it would hardly take any time to grow back. My puppy is 7 months old, too.
She is a darling little girl and looks wonderful in her new clip! I love the little head tilt.
Poodlemommy...your story made my laugh out loud as I pictured your poor girl scooting hur butt under herself so the big, bad air monster wouldn't get her.
outwest - When she gets her "adult" hair I am probably going to have her in a Miami cut.
SS - Almost anytime she is trying to "look cute" or ham it up she does the head tilt thing. Bring the camera out and her head seems to automatically go to that position.
Thanks all for the compliments. She is a beautiful girl and my best friend. :amen:
She is such a poser! Love the black coat (blacks are my favorite). I can tell by her face that she's a sweetheart. (And love the piggy sitting.)
