Default Umbilical Hernia

Daphne has a small umbilical hernia...Vet said it would be taken care of during spay surgery. Anyone had experience with this? I have read some stuff that if pups have this, perhaps their parents should not be bred again? Or some say the mother dog can cause this somehow during birth or the events after (know nothing about dog birth)... anyway curious if I should tell the breeder... When I got my labrador 8 years ago he was a cryptorchid and his breeder would not breed his dam/sire again... not sure if it is a similar sort of situation...

I think it depends on what sort of hernia it is - good explanation here: http://www.showdogsupersite.com/kenl...umbilical.html

It was a bit of a cheat really - the breeder called her Puppy, and I wanted a "red" name ... instant name recognition!
