Cash hurt while boarding
It's been forever and a day since I posted last, but I am hoping for some positive suggestions.
We were gone over the Christmas holiday and so we boarded our dogs at the vet clinic.
My husband picked up the dogs and told me later that morning that Cash had come home with a cut on his leg. I asked big or small and my daughter said not very big, so I figured it was a SMALL scrape or something and he'd be just fine.
When I got home that Friday night, it was much bigger than I had anticipated and about a 1" triangle piece of skin was hanging. I was furious as the vet had not mentioned anything to my husband about any accidents or injury.
I took him back to the vet the next morning and Doc stitched him up and bandaged it. I did everything I could to keep him from chewing the bandage off, but after about 4 days he finally got one off. Unfortunately he pulled out all stitches and the flap of skin that was hanging.
Doc doesn't think he will have any problems just letting it heal on it's own, but I am worried about him getting infection and as petty as it may seem, I'm also worried about him having a big bald spot on the front of his leg.
I can post a pic of the current state of his injury if needed.
Any suggestions on how to handle the care of his wound?
