I think Harry and Cali must be in cahoots! Cali woke me up at 4 AM on Wednesday morning, crying in her crate. She, too, had had diarrhea in it though she managed to back herself right up to her door, poop mostly through the door and then hide herself in the back so most of it missed her. I put her outside, where she pooped again. I have a spare crate, so gave the floor a quick clean, put the dirty crate outside to clean later and put her into the spare.
I think I caused this with too much
pumpkin! I've been sick the last week and my head was feeling a little fuzzy when I made up her weekly batch of food. I usually put in a bit of pumpkin for fiber but for whatever reason, I put in double what I usually do! Duh! Her poops immediately got a little loose but I didn't want to throw out the batch of food and figured she'd be fine. Nope.
I didn't give her any breakfast on Wednesday morning and gave her a small meal of boiled rice and well-rinsed, cooked hamburger (no pumpkin! LOL) in the afternoon. She still had some diarrhea, so I didn't give her another meal. She woke me up at 4:30 AM this morning, throwing up bile because her stomach was empty. Luckily all that entailed was a quick change of towel in the crate.
Today, I'm feeding small meals 4 times a day and she hasn't pooped at all so I'm hoping the worst is over for her and I'll get some sleep tonight!
