Raw fed and poop
Such an exciting topic, I know, but I have a question for those of you who feed raw. I feed Nature's Variety: Instinct Raw Lamb formula and along with all the positives I've seen with that, one thing I have a question about is poop. My pup used to poop twice a day - morning and night - but now he's pooping just once a day more often than not. I'm just wondering if anyone else's dog's schedule has changed since switching. I'm guessing it's normal but it would be interesting to know other people's experiences in this...area

It's probably a combination of the raw bone and a more digestible diet. As long as everything looks normal, isn't too hard and he's not straining, it's nothing to worry about.
This doesn't only happen with raw diets. When my Cali ate kibble, she pooped twice a day. I switched her to a homemade, cooked diet and now she just poops once a day. It's because her homemade diet is more digestible.

Beau eats exactly the same NV food, and sometimes I think I need to supplement with a little raw pumpkin, as the poor guy seems to be constipated. They do poop less on raw, as more of the food actually gets digested.

Swizzle still poops twice a day. His poops are just smaller.

Nickel poops once a day when on fresh/frozen raw. When we travel, he's on air dried raw and he poops once, sometimes twice a day.

Jasper is an erratic pooper. He typically poops once or twice a day, unless he has a hard run (We call them sport poops.)
He's on raw now, and we've found that the only change is smaller, non-stinky ones. I don't know that they're less frequent, though.

Thanks for the input everyone! I think it just might depend on how long of a walk he gets twice a day whether or not he goes soon or not until later. Thanks again!
