I'm so nervous!! Her breeder called yesterday to reignite the topic for Aria to go to show. Everyone thinks we should do it, and I think that everyone is right. I have only been to 2 shows ever in my life and that was since I got her. I don't want to handle her myself, for 2 reasons, 1st, because I want someone who is recognizable to handle her, and the 2nd is because I work Fridays and Saturdays. And Saturdays are my highest demand days. I book all my clients out for the year and literally have a few appointments here and there available still first one being 6 weeks from now, so I can't reschedule my clients easily. I'm going to enroll in a handlers class right away and go from there. Any advice??
Thank you. He lives about 2 hrs away and has offered to mentor me. Also, I work with a show groomer/handler and have another friend who used to handle her Bernese mountain dogs. They both have been a lot of help and are helping me calm my nerves. You would think I was preparing to jump out of a plane or something by the anxiety this is causing me. LOL
Very exciting! Isn't odd how we get more nervous for our dogs than ourselves. I can understand why you want someone to handle her, I know around here owner/handlers are few and far between which is a shame. Good luck!
