Hi there. I had sent a previous message but don't think it actually went so I apologize if this is a repeat. I was looking through your posts and saw a picture of your poodle that had been experiencing a significant change in his coat and your photo appears so similar to my poodle. I had biopsies taken of her skin and there is no sign of SA or immune damage I was hoping that running all these tests would get me some answers. Have you been able to get your poodle back to the beautiful coat that he had previously?? I am at a loss as to what to try. I noticed that she does have more flakiness these last couple of weeks and I have seen people use baby oil on SA dogs and am wondering if this perhaps would moisturize the skin and get her hair to come in thicker and not so coarse. Have you found a treatment for your dog? It makes me feel really helpless and I wish that the vet could pinpoint something! Hope to year from you!!! Thanks for you time.
The breeder is Blue Willow Standards in Gig Harbor WA. Our Zach is almost 5 months, 27 lbs now, mellow, smart, funny, and currently in good health. Our vet was very relieved. I apparently get a Good Mom button. I'm hoping he gets to 45-50 lb. They have had SEVERAL more litters and IMO qualify for puppy mill status, though I'm not qualified or authorized to make that judgement.
I have had no response to emails, and they weren't nastygrams. Just updates. I'm planning now to keep him intact until he is 2, and you'd think they'd want to know if he has been neutered, as we had settled on 6 months at time of purchase.
The breeders come off as nice people. Their dogs are nice, too. And they ARE standards. The math, however, is unsettling.
Regards, Linda and Zach
