Default youtube video will not show up in post.

Hello
As a few of you know I have been trying to post videos of my litter of puppies each week. Each week I take photos of them, their acheivements etc. I even got a little clip of them running outdoors. I put it all together and set it to a cute song.

I upload the whole thing to youtube. I take the code youtube gives me and I add the code to my htmi code in my website...and voila, the actual video is on the web page.

But I cannot get that to happen on the forum. I even pm'd another member who had a youtube video of his 6 weeks old mini and the video was right on the page.

He told me to put the embed code directly in the post. I did this. But no video shows ups just a link to click on to see the video.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Am I using the wrong code from youtube? Is there a special icon to click on from poodelforum so that videos show on the page?

I welcome and and all input.

p.s. what are trackbacks?

Sherry

Dunno 'bout Youtube, but in Photobucket there's an option of copying the link to yr image in .html code or in .img code. IMG code works in this forum, HTML code doesn't.

Maybe that has something to do with it???

I posted two imbedded videos on Bonnies 52 weeks from YouTube. All I did was copy and paste the addresses. In one the video just showed up and in the other, just the link. I thought that was weird since I did the same thing on both, so I took a look at the addresses of each video.

The one that posted with the the video on the page ended with the numbers and symbols. The other one had extra stuff after the numbers and symbols.

Try this:
Copy and paste the address (don't add anything to the address, the poodle forum will do it automatically). Preview the post. If the videos show up, voila you are done. If the links show up people can still click on them and see the videos. If you want to have the video imbedded go back down to the editing box. Get rid of the addresses that poodle forum automatically formatted (they have url in them and some other stuff now). REcopy and paste your videos addresses, just the addresses. Look at the addresses. Take off anything after the letters/number and symbols. In my case, I removed: feature=youtu.be in the address.

I tried to post the links here to show you the examples of what the addresses look like, but it just posts a link or thumbnail automatically.

Again: address only. You will either get a link to the video or the thumbnail of the video, so people should be able to see them either way. Ignore any addresses Youtube suggest you use. They don't work here.

The only other thing it could be is that you have your youtube account set to private. I set my videos to only be viewable with the link, not searchable.

Hope that helps! Let me know if it works.

Thank you Outwest and Countryboy.

I was just outside filming the pups at 6 wks running with their Mom. I should have their six weeks video done later tonight. I will try your tips Outwest...and if that doesn't work I will look into photobucket.

thanks
