I am new to the forum, and first want to say thank you for creating a lovely place to come and chat poodles..

I am owned by a big white boy named George. He turned two in November, and I am just getting ready to start to show him akc. Our first show ever was a show right before pca, and then we did pca ~ What an experience.. Since then, I have been working on growing coat, removing stains, and trying to learn how to dry this dog faster, ugh! It can take me up to 5 hrs plus to dry my boy, and really it could be a lot longer. I need to learn the right way to do this, because I have to be doing it wrong.. Anyway, I have been on a quest to learn, and have been totally engulfed in poodle info since I aquired George last year.
I have been a groomer for 18 yrs now, and never really knew the poo's until I got one of my own. I am so in love with the poo's.. I think in a year or so, I will get a mini, we'll see. For now, I am happy being able to work on my poo and learn how to manage so much coat, how to finish scissor, how to do a topknot, the whole poo experience ~ so much to learn.. I love it all!
I had a bit of a mis-hap, coming from a show, my white poo accidentally got black chalk throughout his coat.. Talk about a mess! He still has a grey cast to his coat.
Anyway, I am getting ready to take him out showing again next week, and I am getting very nervous, to say the least. I think I am going to finish brushing him our today. I ordered a sample pack from vellus a few days ago, and when it gets here I will bath my boy. My breeder turned me on to Vellus, and said if I'm gonna show poos, I need to use Vellus. So, we'll see what's so special about that, when it gets here..

Wow! Gorgeous! Thanks for posting so many pics. I'm new to poodles and am a completely amateur groomer so I love seeing pictures of different cuts. Welcome to the forum!
