I am not on the Bichon list but I am still a member of BFCA. Poodles have captured my heart and any dogs that I am lucky enough to have in my life will be Toy Poodles. My Bichon friends say that I have gone over to the "dark side". LOL

He is beautiful! I've always had standards and toys, but always wanted a miniature female and I finally got my little Tia in May. She is also 5 months old,and quite small at the moment, but hoping she will get a bit bigger! She is adorable though, very quiet and contented and loves my standard Billy to pieces,so glad we got her.

CtPoodle, I think it's most likely a factor of genetics. Jack has nice coat but it's not extremely thick.

Even in bichons (my first breed), I've had varying degrees of hairiness. My first girl had medium thickness, my 2nd and 3rd had tons and I've groomed several with hair more like a maltese.

Also certain foods can make great coat as well and some will ruin coat too (depends on the food/dog, just have to watch).

Pandj, I have the same experience! I love my bichon(s)- down to my last girl- but these poodles, oh these poodles! Arent they something? So devoted to their person!

I've had a minpin, bichons, poodles, a chihuahua, and a PWD so far. I've had plenty of experience with several other breeds as well and I think it's going to be poodles from now on!

Which won't be for many years as I'm plenty full up with 4 dogs at the moment.

She is my little princess, I love her so much. She is the first girl dog I've ever had.

I've been a groomer for years, but a stay at home, homeschooling mom at the moment. Since my bichon doesn't have much patience for grooming anymore I wasnt' getting my creative and artistic outlet LOL Time for another poodle!

He will also be doing obedience, rally and agility in the future. He starts classes in September.
Hes' from Martha Thompson of Jaipur poodles. She is a very nice lady, quite knowledgable about poodles (I used to show toys and bichons years ago as well). He's nicely socialized and stands like a statue for grooming.

Have been enjoying reading posts on the forums and especially the grooming pics

Hi Shamrockmommy, I was interested in your introduction because you got Jack from Jaipur Poodles. I am waiting for a puppy from there. Did you have a good experience?

My overall experience with Martha was positive. She looked to be a typical show breeder and has a grooming shop set up in her home as well. All the resident dogs were well groomed and we got to see several other puppies beside Jack (we were there for jack but since I had previous conformation experience she let me go over a few). She has two puppies out of bailiwick billy the kid who are gorgeous.

Heads are lovely. Nice tail sets and good tail docks on them jack is already good for grooming as she starts them on grooming as little puppies.

Jack is healthy and sweet and really loving. I'd go get another from her definitley.
