Hello from West Georgia
Hi folks. I found this forum while doing some web searches. My wife and I currently have a Poodle/Chihuahua mix that I gave her as a Christmas present in 2005. He was a very dark brown at that time and thus the name Coco was "chosen. She actually "potty trained" him and his litter box is one of the green turtles kids use as a sand box. Very nice to have in rainy, cold weather!! But of course he does his thing when on walks too!! As he has aged he had gotten much lighter in color but is the greatest pet we could ask for. My son will be picking up his Standard Poodle in a couple of weeks. He has already named him Rossi after the sports bike racer. We all enjoy watching the races and last year my son and I made the trip to Indy to watch the races there. He recently had a very bad experience with the purchase of a Standard Poodle and I will get more into that in follow up posts. Your forum already has some questions about this person and I want to relate our experience. I am looking forward to learning from those of you who have had experience in raising Standard Poodles was we venture forth with our journey raising Rossi. Rest assured I AM NOT afraid to ask for help and guidance and welcome it!!

I am sorry for not getting around to posting our story but it has been rather busy at work the past couple of weeks. I promise to get it posted soon because I do not want to see another person go through what we did. We will be picking up Rossi hopefully by this weekend and I will get some pictures of him posted. You can see him and his siblings @ Home and go to current litter tab. He is at the bottom of the page. I did post some more pictures of Coco that I found on my Photobucket account that my old mind had forgotten about.

Welcome. Rossi is a nice looking pup. I hope your son and your entire family get many years of pleasure out of him.
On a side note, isn't Indy amazing? We go to the 500 every year now. Our first trip to the track was 2008 (take the on track full tour). We ordered tickets for the 2009 race while we were there. When you order, you tell them in ranked order four choices of where you want to sit. We ended up with our first choice Tower Terrace tickets, but weren't sure how good the seats were until the people who have the seats next to us arrived and said: "oh hi, nice to meet you since you aren't the people we've been sitting next to for 20 years." Needless to say we renew those seats every year and in 2011 I was able to add two more to our block. Now we can bring people, or just spread ourselves out over four seats for the two of us.
PS. I like your siggy line. Mark Twain must have had a crystal ball.
