I live in Gloucester, MA with my husband, two Airedale Terriers, and a large, black and white cat. While I love terriers, especially ADTs, I've always wanted a Standard Poodle. I've finally convinced my husband of 27 years (and no children) that a poodle is not a fou fou dog and I will not have it groomed with a large pouf on its head and pom poms on its hips -- although I know why the dogs are groomed this way.
So far I've contacted two breeders whom I found through the Poodle Club of MA. Both have male, black standard puppies; one litter is 3 weeks old and the other was born on 1/13/13. I felt comfortable using the Poodle Club breeder listing as that's how I found Woodcrest Kennel in Orford, NH which is where our wonderful Airedales came to us from.
I am not looking for a show dog, just a good, solid, well-bred, sturdy poodle that represents the best of the breed without ever being Best in Show.
Any help you can give me through this Forum will be greatly appreciated and I look forward to hearing from all you experienced poodle people

Joy of the day,
Deb
