Hi Everyone,

I'm new to poodle forum. I live in MD and I currently own a small poodle mix named Doodle.

I'm looking to eventually get a miniature poodle to add to my family of two and wanted to learn more about the breed and maybe find some recommendations on good reputable breeders in my area and thought the best way to go would be to talk to people who already own this awesome breed.

I'm not sure about miniature breeders, as we have a standard puppy, but the people here should be able to steer you in the right direction. Have you posted any photos of Doodle yet?

Welcome to PF. Check out the Poodle Club of America national specialty show. It is in Salisbury, MD in April. The first weekend and Monday and Tuesday are all performance event trials, hunting, tracking, agility, rally and obedience, but from Wednesday on it is all a big breed specialty show. I will be going for the first time this year with my girl for agility and obedience, so I can't say for sure what the total scene is like but I am sure you would make lots of breeder contacts there.

Thank you Lily, I'd love to know more about the event! I love going to dog shows and have been at a couple in my area. The few I went to didn't have a whole lot of miniatures showing, but I did meet some very nice standard poodle breeders! I'm not in a rush when it comes to getting a miniature, I'd rather take my time looking and finding a breeder that I feel really comfortable with.
