I'm a newbie
I'm looking forward to sharing with others who are also poodle lovers. In my opinion the poodle is the most misunderstood dog in the world. I wouldn't have any other breed.
I was raised with Great Danes and at one time long long ago, I bred and my father showed Great Danes. However, my first poodle was rescued from an abusive owner and I had Pepsi, a little miniature poodle, for 13 years. After Pepsi, I was hooked. I went to the Standard size because I am a large dog lover.
After I lost my last Standard - a cream female named Cheyenne, I said that I was through with the heartache and would stop sharing my life with dogs. That lasted 3 months and I couldn't take it any longer.
Now I have my first parti colored Standard. He is beautiful. Chance is a 3 1/2 year old gorgeous black and white standard poodle.
I do have one thing that I believe in which might make me a bit unpopular here. I don't like the interbreeding of poodles to everything else. I guess I don't understand it. In my opinion, if you want a dog that doesn't shed, get a poodle. I have been told by the owner of a Labradoodle that they wanted the coat of a poodle but the personality of a Labrador. What??? Poodles are the best personality ever.
Yay for poodles and the people who love and support this wonderful breed
