Hello everyone!
I used to have a poodle when I was a kid. It died when I was 9 and ever since I've wanted another one. Well, my husband and I are getting our house in January! And I'm moving to part-time at my job in September (yay being at home to train!) so I am hoping to get a puppy sometime between Sept and December 2013!
My mother is an avid dog person. Our dogs were always amazingly trained. And from her suggestion I've already read 4 dog training manuals and plan to read as many as possible between now and then! This will be my first dog that I've owned and trained by myself, but both my husband and I are really excited for it and we both had dogs when we were kids! So I'm excited and really looking forward to the challenge!
Does anyone have any advice on what to look for in a breeder?
I'm hoping to get a female dark puppy. I don't really care what colour I just want her to be dark her entire life. We plan on having kids, and I want to raise them at home so I plan on having a small daycare to supplement income. So I need a dog who's parents are amazing with children! I am currently a Nanny and our house is across the street from an elementary school so I know lots of kids already that I can use to social our puppy before we bring a baby home to it.
Oh! And I live in South-Western Ontario.
It would be really nice to find a breeder Close-ish by either in Ontario or just south of the border.
So HI! Nice to meet you all and I'm happy to be here and to add to my repertoire of dog-training books I'm reading I'm going to head over to the Training section of these forums

and start reading!
Thanks for reading my intro!
