I'm so sorry for your loss. What a tragedy!! I blame the owners and not the dog. They are bred to be aggressive towards other dogs and animals, but not people. I'm glad you are getting a toy, they make such loving dogs. I hope you can put a fence up so this doesn't happen again. Cant control other people and what they do, but you can control at least some aspects of the environment. Welcome aboard!

Actually we can't put up a fence in the front yard. I do have a 6 foot block wall surrounding my back yard but that won't keep dogs from coming to my front door. We have a homeowners association and front yard fences are a no no.

So sorry for the loss of your Isabel. With tears in my eyes typing this, it breaks my heart when loving pets die in a horrific way. I hope your new little poodle will heal some of the pain.

Again, thank you everyone. I am really getting excited, just two weeks from tomorrow and our little girl will be coming home! Still trying to decide on a name. My daughter, who will actually own her, is 27 years old and always has been a girly girl to the extreme. Isabel was a white chihuahua and once found herself died pink (with dog safe dye). Brianne is tossing around a few names but keeps coming back to "Cupcake: I like "Sophie" and "Mia". We also like "Claire". {sigh}...decisions, decisions!
