New and looking for a toy poodle
Hello,
I am so glad I found this forum. I would love to get a small red or dark apricot female toy poodle but I have no idea where to start looking. She would have to be from a reputable show breeder. I am in Europe and don't mind travelling for one.
I have a little 5.5lb maltese and would like another dog of similar size but I understand toy poodles are bigger than this?
Any breeder recommendations or general toy poodle advice is welcomed!
Looking forward to finding out more

How exciting to be searching for a toy poodle! I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful information here. I bet your little Maltese will love having a friend. Toy poodles in the States are 10" and under at the withers (shoulders), and their weight varies. You'll find many adoring toy poodle owners here. I wish you good luck in finding the poodle of your dreams!
You might take a look at the Poodle Club of America website as part of your breeder research.

My toy is six pounds, only a little bigger than your Maltese. My boy is ten inches so you should have no problem getting a similar size to your dog. FJM has a lovely red toy, Poppy. I wonder who her breeder is? She is in the UK.

Hello and welcome! I'm new here too; I have a toy apricot poodle, just 12 weeks (on sunday 2nd he'll be three months old). He's a delight, sweet, fun and loving.
There are very good breeders of toy poodles in Europe; I'm no expert, but I can tell you a couple of names that my breeder mentioned me as very good & reputable breeders: Solnes poodles in Denmark and Yamit Muskat in Russia. Although I live in Spain, the sire/dad of my toy Ruso is a Yamit Muskat; that's why I put him that name, "Russian" in spanish :-)
In Spain there are also very good breeders: Delabea (my breeder) and Golden Strik.
You can have a look at planetpoodle.de, it's a german web with liks to breeders and some useful info. Wish you luck in your search!
