Hello everyone!

I thought I'd introduce myself and my dog Pebbles. She is a mismarked black miniature poodle with a little bit of white on her chest. She's 4 months old now and is turning into quite the dream dog! I'm absolutely in love with the breed, poodles are amazing! I wanted to add some photos to show her off, but got an error message when trying to attach them, so I'll save that for later.

I'm in Surrey, and have an almost 2 year old mismarked black and white poodle boy! He has a white chin, chest and paw!

Hi again!

Thanks for the welcoming words! Catriona: Your boy looks so much like Pebbles! Thanks for sharing the photo of him. Pebbles also has a white chest and chin And she has a little bit of white on each back paw and on the tip of the tail. The first photo is from the week we got her and the second one shows the markings on her chest and tail. The last one was taken a couple of weeks ago after she had been to the groomer.

We got her from a breeder in Wrexham in Wales as there were hardly any miniature poodles around this summer! There was actually a lady from London who bought her brother and that's even further away from Wales. Where did you get yours? I originally wanted a brown one, but now I wouldn't have it any other way There's not many Mini poodles (or other Poodles for that sake) around here, and people keep asking if she's a cockapoo. I hope when she get older people actually start recognising she's a poodle!

She's such a funny little dog and she sleeps in so many weird positions! I might make a thread with photo's of her strange sleeping positions actually

I got Ollie from West Wittering. I Originally wanted a red, but Ollie litter was available and I after going to see him I completely fell in love!

I still get people asking if he is a cockerpoo, even though I clip him like a poodle! Think it's just cos they are so popular here now, with very few pure poodles around!

The funny sleeping positions is very much a poodle thing! Especially in some weird on the back twist bend thing! Lost Ollie once when he was a pup... found him asleep in my gym bag on a towel!

I think you're right about cockerpoo's being more popular, I've met several in our area when we've been out walking, but no poodles yet! Pebbles is not in a very poodley clip at the moment, so I can sort of understand why people get it wrong. But I was hoping after the next groom (then we're having her face shaved) that she will be recognised as the wonderful poodle she is. I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up if people think Ollie is a cockerpoo, he looks very much like a poodle to me.

The weird back twist bend sleeping is definitely a favourite with Pebbles! She has also managed to sleep with her nose towards the sky and her neck bent back.. Very strange indeed. I hope you got a photo of Ollie in your gymbag, that sounded so cute! I keep thinking 'what if this is the only time she...' and bolt for the camera whenever she does something cute. It's quite difficult to photograph a black dog though.

Oh, and I just have to share a little breakthrough we had today; for the first time ever she went over to the garden door and scratched it in order to get out to go to the toilet! I was so happy! She's normally quite good, but only because we watch her like a hawk and let her out super often. It was nice that she really showed that she understood it. (Although it may have something to do with the fact that she now get's a little piece of freeze dried venison liver everytime she goes to the toilet in the garden).

They are very quick learners, ESPECIALLY when food is involved! Ollie toilet trained super quick as soon as I figured out how to do it properly!
