I'm new and I live in Maryland. I found a breeder I liked on a website and sent a deposit on Friday to hold the puppy. Been emailing her for pictures got some couldn't decided between a sable which I've never seen before or a choc or an apricot. Given they 've not advertised much yet. I thought I had alittle time. The puppies are 20 days old. I asked for the choc female toy poodle puppy as my choice and the little apricot if the other had been spoken for. They sent me another deposit request?? I wrote back with the invoice from PayPal stating I paid already remember. No oops my bad back just remember to pay the rest before shipping.

Still not sure if I should be upset. I've emailed and called this breeder since Thursday like a dozen times for information. Not being picky. I'd be happy with any one of the little ladies. but should a breeder be rude?

Have you spoken to them over the phone? Are you buying a puppy based only on photos they've sent you/ you've seen on a website?

Honestly, I would try to find a breeder that you can actually visit - go see the parents and play with the pups and speak to the breeder face to face.
From what you've said this breeder sounds shady. I don't recommend buying a dog from someone over the internet that you don't know or haven't met in person... or at least gotten some very good reviews about from people who own their dogs. If they can't even keep track of who paid them a deposit and who didn't they sound like a puppy mill/puppy broker etc. to me.

There are many poodle breeders in and around MD. It might be better to consider getting a dog from someone who is a reputable breeder.... just a thought.

Good luck, I hope everything works out for you and you get the puppy you really want!
