We have two precious toys, sisters. They are 6 and 12 pounds, from the same litter. They are six years old. On Friday we bring home a 4 month old standard! All are female. I hope this goes well. Any advice is welcomed. I would love meeting people around Atlanta who are owned by poodles. :angel2:
Hi Kay, My name is Laura and I am new to this forum. I just lost my silver mini in March and wouls like to get a standard or another mini. I am not in a huge hurry as I am still upset over the loss, but, I was hoping that you had the name of a reputable breeder here in atlanta area. I am in Canton. I would like a breeder that does not line breed and that tests the dogs for genetic disorders. Keep me posted on your new arival. i am excited for you. Let me know what I am in for training wise lol. Its been awhile for me and you forget you know...
God Bless
Laura
Welcome! You must be super excited!
About 8 months ago I got my first Spoo, he was 5 months old and I had no idea what to expect. I'd be very cautious at the beginning with the standard. They're VERY bouncy lively puppies, and it would not take much for her to hurt your little ones. It would never be on purpose, but if they play too rough or something. Get on that RIGHT away to set the rules. Don't make exceptions because you don't want to risk it with tiny dogs. Mine is pretty bad around my kitten that I got recently, he just wants to play but it has to be in a very controlled environment.
I'm sure you'll love her! Sometimes you'll wanna pull your hair out too! Enjoy! haha
Thanks so much for the advice. Sounds like it will be like when I brought home a Chicuahua rescue and had two Bouviers in the house. Love the snow in your picture.
Hi, it can be really a challenging introducing a new dog into an already established pack, no matter how small. Especially when there is a size difference, however that being said, they will set their own boundaries with the new dog. My chi-hua-hua plays a lot with both of your other dogs a full grown dalmatian and a 3 month old standard. Sully is always raring to play and sometimes it gets to be a bit much for the older dogs. They always let him know when he has overstepped the line. Good luck and my best advise take it slow and dont expect too much right away.
